The Garden Club of Henderson will be hosting GARDENS THAT SWING IV garden tour on June 9th from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm (rain or shine) and will be held in conjunction with the W. C. Handy Blues and Barbecue Festival.

Tickets for the tour are $20 and can be purchased in advance from Third Street House in downtown Henderson.  In Evansville, tickets will be sold at Maxine’s and Wildflowers.   On the day of the tour, tickets can be purchased at any garden on the tour or in Central Park, where visitors can treat themselves to world-class barbecue and a day of live entertainment.

Gardens on the tour include:

• Jim and Anne Crafton, 726 So. Adams–Walk along old brick paths that meander through perennial-lined garden rooms.  This is a “Garden of the Season” winner.

  Mary Jane Fulkerson, 607 Cherry St.–A charming example of how much can be done in a small space.  This award winner features creative ways to divide a garden into rooms.

  Dr. Akhtar and Diane Yusufji, 4436 Deepwood Dr.–A true labor of love.  This expansive property showcases abundant roses, an extensive collection of perennials and a unique pond and waterfall.

  Penny and Robbie Royster–How can a huge, wooded property be given boundaries to form a charming country garden?  Begin with a picket fence.  This garden has everything: a gazebo, koi pond, greenhouse, tiki hut and swimming pool.

  Nancy and Gray Hodge, 707 N. Main St.–Can two large, lovable dogs coexist with delicate flowers?  One of Henderson’s most historic homes has a garden design with pets in mind.

  Debbie and Charlie McCollom, 2829 Tippecanoe–An extensive collection of shade plants.  A daring fence color adds to the deep, dark New Orleans feel of this garden.  A specialist from Hilltop Orchids will be in the greenhouse to discuss the care and feeding of orchids.  Plants will be for sale.
